Basic History of Senkyou

 | Back |  Founding of Kanri

You find a book that seems to be rather old, and obviously an old copy and rewritten version of its originals. Its binding is worn but hold together. It also seems to be enchanted to resist wear and tear, but that spell has weakened over time. It says "History of Kanri" on the binding.
You decide it deserves a look since it is the history of this city. You begin to read.....

13 B.F. (Before Founding) The Collapse
During this terrible year, the old and powerful country of Sirgina collapsed due to the efforts of the Ana'Kisuto. The 1,000 some people who survived the chaos afterward and wished to leave this place became refugees and were led south by Sen'Arra Kanri and her bestfriend, and future husband,  Jim Rentis.

         12 B.F. The Great Wandering
After traveling out of the know border of the late Sirgina, the refugees had little knowlege of where to travel next. The Scouts they sent didn't come back. Since to the North only held cold moutain climates and the chaos they tried to leave behind, Kanri decided to take a child toy. After spinning it to see which direction it pointed, it pointed southeast and thus the direction they chose.
After several miles Kanri found some of the missing Scouts, they had fled from a large serpent monster and that they were sent to the South. The scout sent to the west also returned but they would not speak, they only muttered the words 'So cold, so lonely, don't make me go back.' The remaining scouts were found resting and preparing to return to the refugees when the refugees found them. This year of the journey went uneventful but the land lacked good farm land and plenty of wildlife.

         5 B.F. Dark Tempest
Unfortunately for the refugees, the Ana'Kisuto had caught up to them. The cult group had sent some armed men to find the refugees and kill them. Though the refugees overwhelmed the Ana'Kisuto, one hundred refugees were killed by 50 Ana'Kisuto. The capured Ana'Kisuto revealed that a force ten times their size was also headed for the refugees. Since Ana'Kisuto never used cavalry (as they preferred chaotic man-to-man combat), the refugees ran South as fast as possible with the fewest stops possible. Many times they went 2 days without sleep.
It became painfully obvious that the Ana'Kisuto would not let up and would utterly devastate the refugees. Four years would pass before the refugees would find the tools to fight back.

        1 B.F.  Kran'Ashi Ruins
The running became almost too much to bear before the refugees found a safe haven and a fortress: The Kran'Ashi (the real meaning was 'Great Wise Ones' but the word also meant 'Servants of the Gods') Ruins. The ruins had walls with weapons mounted on them, magic ones.
Though it was obvious these well crafted devices were weapons, the refugees had no idea how to use them. Several attempts failed, one poor fellow even lost a hand when one blew up after he touched a strange rune. Jim Rentis, however, became impatient and tried to opperate one, and he did. However, this cost one person his life and Jim his right hand. They shot 'arrows of light' and burned a hole in anything the arrows touched. They even kept their deadly glow even after striking the ground and then disappeared completely after a few moments. The refugees had their weapons, and just in time, for the Ana'Kisuto had come.
The battle was a massacre, the Ana'Kisuto lost ten fighters to 'arrows of light' for every refugee they killed with normal arrows. The day was won, and their new fertile home had been found.

1 A.F. (After Founding) The Great city of Kanri
One year afterwards,  Sen'Arra Kanri was chosen as the High Wisdom of Senkyou, with her husband and several other brave souls acting as Wisdoms of the People. Sen'Arra lived for 20 more years before her death at the age of 57. Her husband died five years before at the age of 51. The relics of the Deep Ruins keep the few monsters that wander near the city at bay and some help the land and power other machines. This great city lives peacefully for 90 years after Kanri's death.

      389 A.F.  Present Day
After several near disasters and Ana'Kisuto infiltrations, some believe that Senkyou will follow the path of its predecessor, Sirgina.  Warlords and monster sightings become more and more numerous, and the Gunjin soldiers that patrol the cities and police the streets are become lazy. Who know what might befall Senkyou, Land of Magic? Not even the Great Gods themselves know that.
